Joint Commission Has Come and Gone

Well ,they just came after a long anticipated few weeks. I was for sure they were going to come and put me through the runner but some how they skipped the MRI department again. I have to share a funny story about the last day they were here. I heard they were in the main Radiology department and my staff and I were at attention but we got a call they left. So a temporary relief settled in until I see my director walking my way with some guy with a clipboard. They walk in and ask to see my policies and procedures and started looking around. My director said he was from Joint Commission and did the clinical portion. He started asking me to explain our 4 zone safety concept and to walk him through it. He started giving me a hard time and I was thinking, "here we go". Well, it turns out it was a Nuc Med student that I have never met and it was a practical joke that the whole Radiology staff just thought it was so funny. I have to say it was a good one and I deserved it, due to me being a practical joker myself.
